2023. Foundations of Disability-Inclusive Education Sector Planning in Nigeria and Somalia

The IIEP-UNESCO online course ‘Foundations of Disability-Inclusive Education Sector Planning’, organized from 25 September to 30 November 2023, aims to equip professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to actively mainstream inclusive education into education sector plans (ESPs). Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: • Define principles, key concepts, and benefits related to inclusion in education systems; • Examine strengths and weaknesses of education systems using a disability-inclusive lens; • Formulate strategies to improve inclusion in the education sector in their country with a focus on children with disabilities; • Assess their own role and contributions to making the education system more disability-inclusive. Participants who are awarded a Certificate of Successful Completion completed all the course work, including individual study, contributions to interactive discussion forums, participation in live sessions, preparation of a group project and individual quizzes. They spent an average of 10 hours on coursework over a span of 10 weeks, totaling 100 learning hours.
