2023. Fundamentals of Crisis-Sensitive Educational Planning

The IIEP-UNESCO online specialized course on Fundamentals of Crisis-Sensitive Educational Planning took place from June 7 to July 19, 2023. The aim of this 7-week course was to enhance participants’ competencies and technical skills to analyse the impact of disasters, including conflicts, and identify how to integrate crisis risk reduction and climate change into national education sector policy and planning processes. More specifically, upon completion of this course, participants are able to: - Analyse the risks of hazards, including conflicts, climate change and forced displacement, that impact their country’s education sector; - Identify crisis-sensitive programmes and policies for the education sector, including policies to address climate change and education for forcibly displaced populations; - Prepare a costed operational plan for the implementation of crisis-sensitive educational planning; - Design a project plan to prepare for education sector planning in an emergency context. Participants who are awarded a Certificate of Successful Completion completed a series of individual and group assignments and participated in a series of online webinars.
