2023. Short Course on Gender-Responsive Educational Planning

IIEP-UNESCO Dakar short online course Gender-Responsive Educational Planning was held from September 25 to November 26, 2023. The course was designed improve participants’ understanding and appreciation of issues relating to gender equality in and through education, and to strengthen their ability to undertake gender-responsive planning and analysis of the education sector. At the end of the course, participants should be able to: (1) Explain the issues and challenges of gender equality in and through education; (2) Identify the school-based and non-school factors that cause gender disparities in education and establish links between gender norms and gender disparities in education; (3) Analyse the school based and non-school factors that cause gender disparities in education and establish links between gender norms and gender disparities in education; (4) Identify relevant indicators (quantitative and qualitative) and data sources; (5) Analyze the indicators; (6) Explain the policy planning process. Participants who have obtained this certificate of successful completion have spent an average of 8 hours a week for 9 weeks (72 learning hours in total) on course-related work and have : - completed all individual and/or group assignments for all three modules (graded assignments) ; - participated in a relevant way in the group activity of module 3 (non-graded activity). - obtained an overall mark of 60% in each of the three modules.
